Eco Classrooms

Our Eco Classrooms are environmentally-friendly buildings which can be used for a whole host of applications. Every facet of their design and manufacture has been with sustainability in mind but where the Hideout House eco classroom is different in this respect is that its secondary purpose is just as important as its primary one – in that children can actually learn from the building so it therefore becomes both a functional and didactic product combined into one. Children can see how the sedum on the roof changes colour and texture and how it attracts wildlife, they can plant and grow their own food, they can harvest rainwater, they can monitor and use the energy created by the wind turbine or solar panel and they can see how good insulation is more energy efficient. They can even pedal special, energy-producing dynamo bikes to keep the lights on! Our eco classrooms therefore follow some the main tenets of the Eco Schools programme including renewable energy and bio-diversity.

We specialise in designing all kinds of eco classrooms for schools who want to do more with their on-site facilities and who want to promote their outdoor learning, eco school and forest schools initiatives – schools that also have an important agenda when it comes to the environment.

These buildings can either be open-sided (outdoor classrooms) or fully enclosed with insulation for all year round use and are available in either octagonal, square or rectangular formats.
